In the media: Keep the cash and a resilient national infrastructure

July 23, 2025

Always have cash, whether in your home country or abroad on summer holiday for a crisis, emergency, IT- or power breakdown.

Susanne Skov Diemer encourages citizens to keep and use cash in the name of civil defence, recommending the use cash regularly to strengthen preparedness.

Nations should strengthen and secure the protection of critical infrastructure. Danish critical infrastructure should be under Danish control. Not necessarily state-run, but certainly free of commercial interests. Security and operational stability come at a cost. That is why any surplus should be reinvested into the organization – to strengthen resilience, protect our infrastructure, and ensure long-term societal value.

Susanne Skov Diemer has been on a Danish media news round to the main Danish broadcasters (DR – Danmarks Radio TV 2 Danmark Radio4) after the breakdown of card payments this weekend talking about keeping cash and national infrastructure for better preparedness before the next breakdown.
