World class security expert joins Praesidio Group
We are pleased to welcome a high-profile security expert, Richard Klugman, who has served as a Special Agent with the U.S. Government for 25 years, embedded investigator to nine European Police Authorities for 6 years and former Attaché to Denmark for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
“We see an increase in cases related to complex investigations and financial crimes in blue chip organizations facing internal threats and external risks. With Richard Klugman on board, we can make a critical difference to our clients”, says Susanne Diemer, Founder & CEO.
As a retired Special Agent for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Richard Klugman has spent more than 25 years detecting, investigating, and prosecuting international criminal enterprises: from narcotic cartels to money launderers, illegal weapons to customs fraud. He has worked the gambit of criminal organizations, partnering with U.S. and European counterparts to identify, dismantle, and convict criminal gangs on both sides of the Atlantic.
As the DHS diplomatic liaison in Copenhagen and Frankfurt, Richard Klugman worked closely with Nordic police and Customs authorities, fostering solid relationships and aiding the local authorities in a myriad of police operations, including several well publicized contraband seizures and arrests of wanted felons. These accomplishments are a testament of his unique law-enforcement expertise and police savvy.
In his new role as Head of Investigations for Praesidio Group, Richard Klugman will be a key player in solving internal challenges for clients (commercial fraud, customs fraud, internal theft, embezzlement, ineffective security systems, questionable employee screening), and external dangers/risks (corporate espionage, precarious new business partners, etc.). For proactive clients looking to strengthen their supply chain security (a major plus for application to CTPAT and the EU’s Authorized Economic Operator), he will advise on physical perimeter security upgrades at cargo facilities, secure container programs, and staff vetting of employees, amongst others.
Richard Klugman will also assist on services relating to personal protection, having been trained by, and served for, the Department of State Diplomatic Security Service, in protective details, defensive driving, advance work, surveillance and counter surveillance.
